Charter Policies

  • Standard charters entitle the purchasing customer to use the aircraft’s full seat and payload capacity on an out and back flight from Merrill Field, Anchorage.

  • At your destination, you may release the aircraft to return to Merrill Field, or you may choose to have the aircraft and crew standby and wait for you. There is a fee for holding the aircraft over (with 1 hour of credit given for one hour of charter flight time), and we will help you determine whether it is more advantageous for you to use standby, or to release the aircraft and have it return later on a second charter flight for your pickup.

  • Overnight trips are available, and are billed at a minimum of five flight hours per twenty-four hour period away from our Merrill Field base.

  • Prince William Sound Open charters and Closed charters - AAT offers what we call “Open Charters” to the Prince William Sound. These charters are offered at a reduced rate, and entitle the purchasing customer to use the aircraft’s full available seat and payload capacity on a charter flight from Merrill Field, Anchorage. However, in exchange for the reduced rate, AAT may sell any unused capacity to other customers. If a Prince William Sound charter customer wishes to “close” the charter to other passengers or freight, they may purchase a “Closed Charter” at a non-discounted rate.

Alcohol carriage policy
  • Alaska Air Transit will not transport alcoholic beverages to communities we serve, even though local regulations may permit alcohol.

Marijuana carriage policy
  • Alaska Air Transit complies with federal law that prohibits transportation of marijuana by air.
